South Florida Swordfishing Charters Night Trips
If you enjoy the pursuit of big game fish, the Broadbill Swordfish is pound for pound one of the strongest creatures of the ocean. In 1,200+ feet of water located just 15 miles off our coastline, you’re in the most productive Swordfishing waters in South Florida. This fishing trip is mainly reserved for evenings as we are still experimenting with daytime techniques. Our gear used includes fishing with 5 or more rods equipped with Tiagra 80 and 50 wides reels, harpoon, flying gaff, 16' Paratech sea anchor, and many other tools of this trade.
Safety related items on board include USCG approved life Jackets, Signal flares, fire extinguishers, and communication devices to hail the Coast Guard if necessary and an extensive first aid kit.
Our vessel the New Lattitude, carries the fishing licenses and permits for all on board. Swordfish regulations in effect include 3 fish per boat per night maximum and a minimum length of 47 inches from the tip of the lower jaw to the fork in the tail strictly enforced.
Rates are $900.00 per trip. Bait and ice are included with this trip. A mate will come along on this trip to help with all duties on board such as, comedian, cocktail mixer, line winder etc.
In all seriousness, when you bring aboard a Swordfish over 300 pounds with a Bill over 5 feet long it takes a lot of skill and experience. Often it takes more than 1 person just to reel in the fish with 3 men taking turns as the norm. Then a team effort to leader and gaff the fish to the boat. (If you decide to take home the best steaks in town.)
